CS4 PC Zoom, Pan, Select tools odd behavior

First post here, please forgive me if this is a repeat…

I've been working in ID CS4 on a PC for a couple months and have had no problems…until now. Out of the blue, the pan, zoom, and select tools are misbehaving. The Pan tool (while holding spacebar down) grabs the page, moves it but will not release the page upon releaseing the mouse button. I have to press ESC to release its grasp. Similarly, the zoom tool (again, using the keyboard shortcut), will not consistently "click-zoom", rather it forces me into using the marque-box zoom method (terribly inconvenient). Lastly, the select tool will inconsistently pick up objects and will sometimes hold onto objects once I select them, moveing them with my mouse button released.

At this point I have trashed my preferences in an attempt to alleviate the problems but this did not help. I've been using ID for over 7 years, from CS2-CS5 on a Mac and have never run into this behavior. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Sounds like your mouse button is sticky. Are you having problems in other software as well?

Or perhaps someone has turned on some of the accessibility options on your computer? Are your objects released if you click the mouse button a second time?

Thanks for the advice….

I'm only having problems in CS products (Illustrator and Indesign specifically). I checked the accessibility settings and ClickLock is not activated. The objects are released when I click a second time.

any other ideas?

UPDATE:

I've traced the problem to a faulty Logitech wireless keyboard. The problem remained after installing fresh batteries and the only fix was replacing the keyboard/mouse setup. I don't know why tifixed it, but its nice to e back to normal.
