Are the chapters distinct PDF files? If not — the entire book is one PDF — you should be able to create the hyperlinks automatically:
* Generate the TOC using InDesign's TOC feature, being sure that "Create PDF Bookmarks" is checked in the Table of Contents dialog, along with the "Include Book Documents" checkbox if you are using an InDesign book.
* Export with the "Include Bookmarks" and "Include Hyperlinks" checkboxes ticked.

I'm sorry, but I don't think there is any way to set this up with relative links such as "../images/foo.pdf". I don't think ID can do that. I didn't know that Acrobat could! Hm.

http://indesignsecrets.com/mak…..design.php I figured out how to do relative hyperlinks in InDesign and have them work in Acrobat. Even videos play. Michael
