I have a question about printer settings. We have five different output devices that we print to. When we go to print, Indesign remembers and sends the document to the last printer that we sent to. We would like to change that so that it either remembers the last printer that the document was sent to or that it would ask which one to go to each time. Is there such a setting?

I don't think it's InDesign that is remembering; I think it is the printer driver itself. For example, on the Mac, you can open system preferences, choose Print & Fax, then set the Default Printer popup menu to either a particular printer or "Last Printer Used."

Thank you!! That was it, unfortunately it is like you said either last printer used or I have to choose a specific default printer. Is there a way to set up a printer in and InDesign document that is document specific, so that it will always print to a specific printer unless changed?

Nope. Printer Styles can't remember printers… sigh.

Once you have printed the document once indesign remembers those settings for that document at least in CS4 dont know for later versions
