Unthread a text frame

There used to be a really cool plugin from aextra-software which would break a frame wherever one put the text cursor. Sadly they haven't upgraded it for CS5. Here's my story: twice a year I set up a large book catalogue. There are white pages, blue pages and an order form. The white pages have to be split into 2 equal parts (each divisible by 8 of course!) because the blue pages and the order form (also divisible by 8) have to be inserted. All this after loads of edits/changes/amends.

The split in the white pages always always comes in the middle of a sentence at the bottom of the page. The 2 scripts that come with InD CS5 (splitstory.jsx and breakframe.jsx) don't do anything other than completely wreck the document — as far as I can see and IMO. Now that I no longer have aextra-software's CleverText.jsx all I've been able to do is copy all the text from the white pages' centre to the end (thank goodness for Shift+Control+End) and paste it into a new document set up with the same styles, grid, master pages etc. etc.

Perhaps that's the only way? Anyway, thanks for listening.

Have you tried putting that script into a folder called Version 6.0 Scripts and running it from there?  It must be called exactly that name, with that little trick you can run old scripts in CS5.

Not really sure what the issue is, your story is a bit hard to follow. If you could post some screen shots or something to what you're trying to do?

Oops — my bad. It's not a script, it's a plugin.

What I need to do is simple. At the bottom of, for instance, page 96 of the 198-page catalogue I need to break the story so that I can save the catalogue in two parts: white pages part 1 and white pages part 2. With all the other stuff in 44 pages (called blue pages), I can then set up a book: white pages part 1, blue pages, white pages part 2, and that deals with page numbering so that I can export each part as a PDF for the printer.

In fact it's already at the printer but I had to Cut (from the top of p97) and Paste into a new document. I suppose that isn't so bad but I'd just like to be able to do it with a simple click (as before with the CleverText plugin from aextra software).
