I’ve not heard of this problem, but my first inclination is that she’s typing the wrong registration number in (perhaps she’s using her CS1 number instead of CS3?) or that she doesn’t have a live Internet connection to activate it.

I have a client (remote, so I can’t actually see her screen), who is having trouble activating her purchased upgrade to CS3 from CS1. She didn’t do it at the time of installation, so every time she opens InDesign, she’s asked if she wants to activate her copy; that she has XX days left on her trial version. I had her enter her new registration code (several times), but that’s not working. Her original copy of CS1 is still installed, so the installer should be able to find that without problems. Is there something else I should advise her to do?

(I asked her to get DiskWarrior and run the disk and file utilities. I’m sure these need to be done and this may fix the problem, but maybe you know of something else I could tell her.)

I downloaded it and my OS is plain ol’ Win XP also. It crashes on me too. Adobe is drastic need of competent programmers obviously. I’m noticing a number of problems with it. Looks like another crap product. I’ve had so many problems with this awful awful program that I hope they go bankrupt for wasting so many hours and days of my time trying to work around THEIR bugs. I’m piping mad.

I downloaded the trial (Indesign CS3), but it crashed when I tried loading it.

I have OS: Win XP SP2, with Microsoft .net versions 1, 2 and 3 installed.

Soes anyone know why it won’t run? … it seemed to install fine (I tried twice: 2 clean installs), so that’s okay, but…

When I try to run Indesisnm its loader crashes (round about when its splash screen says ‘checking Windows registry)

BTW, no I don’t use any illegal versions – so that can’t be it!

Any help appreciated

Excellent. My business is transitioning to a new office and we are switching out computers and deciding on the best package to buy. We do plan on upgrading within the month. This will help us in the interim.
