Happy New Year! A Look Back at Favorite Blogs Posts from 2012
Happy near year everyone! It’s a pleasure to see you again. While it’s always fun to look forward into a new year, we thought we’d take this opportunity to point out some of our favorite InDesignSecrets articles from the past year. Wow, there was some seriously good stuff. If you missed any of these, here’s your chance to get back up to speed.
- Ashley Mitchell brought us *Click* *Click*? for Victory! and Using the Shift+Arrow Keys to Extend a Text Selection in Both Directions.
- Keith Gilbert explained How to create guides shorter (or longer) than the page (crazy!), how to Create a Pocket Folder Template in CS5, and Why ?No Break? is better than a line break.
- Bob Levine pointed out The ABCs of MSOs for DPS, and Getting Around Windows 7 Security to ?Save? Files Into InDesign?s Application Folder.
- Anne-Marie discussed a method to Use Snippets to Share Content with Older Versions, Fixing TOC Levels That Refuse to Behave, and Finding and Fixing Local Text Formatting (No Script Required).
- Mike Rankin shared The Zero Leading Solution, Hiding Content Within a Frame, and the mind-bending Wizard of Oz FX: Ruby Slippers.
- Sandee Cohen wrote about Aligning tables away or towards the spine and Digging deep into CS6’s Recent Fonts.
- Steve Werner delved into Finding the Best Tablet PDF Reader and Finding Export PDF to Grayscale in InDesign CS6.
- Kelly Vaughn taught us how to Use InDesign Table of Contents to Make PDF Bookmarks and also Locating Your InDesign Serial Number.
And, in hopes that I don’t sound too full of myself, here are a bunch of articles that I wrote this year that I think are worth revisiting:
- Changing InDesign?s Default Ruler Measurements
- Import Word Files into InDesign, Remove Local Formatting but Keep Italics and Bold
- Creating Shared Layouts (Composition Zone) in InDesign
- Make a Calendar with Every Interfaith Holiday Listed On It
- Add Custom Text at the Beginning of Each Line
- Japanese Dots: A Journey Up the River
- Making Fill in the Blank Labels for Contracts and Forms
- Mac OS Utilities and Add-Ons I Love
- Using Data Merge to Create a Table for a Directory
- How to Put a Stroke Around a Group of Objects in InDesign
- Import Word Documents, Edit in Word and InDesign, and Keep Linked for Updating
Enjoy!
