InDesign CS3 Plug-ins Rolling Out

If you are upgrading to InDesign CS3 (or have already made the upgrade), you should be aware that you will probably have to upgrade your third-party plug-ins, too. Fortunately, a number of plug-in developers have been releasing CS3 versions of their products recently.

Extensis: “Extensis is pleased to announce that a new font auto-activation plug-in for Adobe InDesign CS3 is available for download now. This Font Sense™ equipped plug-in ensures accurate font matching and auto-activation of fonts when opening your InDesign CS3 documents. The plug-in update is available free-of-charge to registered Suitcase Fusion users. It is recommended that you use the current version of Suitcase Fusion (v 12.1.3) in coordination with this new plug-in. Teacup Software: CS3 versions of PatternMaker, BarcodeMaker, PatternPack and TypeFitter are available now. “The new versions offer various enhancements and improvements over previous versions, including new pattern presets for PatternMaker and BarcodeMaker, better scripting support and improved INX support for TypeFitter. Support for CS3 for Teacup’s other plug-ins, including ImageSwapper and DataLinker, is expected in Q3 of this year.” The free PatternPack plug-in remains a free download. The upgrade cost for TypeFitter is $23.60, for PatternPack is $39.60, and BarcodeMaker is $59.60.

DTPtools: The astonishing PageControl 1.1 now supports InDesign CS3, and they’re working on others. DTPtools has announced that “All upgrades from CS and CS2 versions to the new one will be free.”

Rorohiko: The makers of Lightning Brain LikeFindsLike, StoryParker, TextStitch, ChatterGoofy, and a long list of other FREE plug-ins is updating their plug-ins at a fevered pitch.
