InDesign for the Web Best Practices eSeminar

Update: This event appears to be for US and Canada residents only, since they are the only countries listed in the registration form.

Adobe is offering a free eSeminar on best practices when using InDesign CS4 to create and publish content for the Web.

The seminar will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. PST | 2:00 p.m. EST

Here’s the agenda:

  • Best practices when using InDesign CS4 to export HTML/CSS for websites
  • InDesign’s ability to create Flash-based buttons, menus, navigation, and effects
  • A sneak peek into Adobe’s future plans for helping print designers embrace the web

One content note: the event is open to the public but the assets in the demos will be tailored government customers.

Here’s the Registration page.

Is this US and Canada only? There seems to be no option on the reg form for Europe.
    :(

    Tim-

You’re right. Sorry, I didn’t see that anywhere in the description of the event. If I get a chance to attend, I’ll publish a summary for residents of everywhere.

Thanks Mike, particularly interested in the HTML/CSS export.

I noticed there wasn’t any option for outside US. I’ve emailed them about this and I am waiting for a response. If I hear anything I’ll let you know.

The “north america only” policy happened with a couple of previous Adobe eseminars, too. But the recording of the event was open to everyone. It’s unclear why they have that restriction.

    Thanks, Mike.

For anyone in the NYC area, I’ll be doing a presentation on Feb 23 at the NYC InDesign User Group meeting on moving from print design to web design including a a demo of Adobe BrowserLab.

And I’ll be there doing my best to hurl random questions at Bob from the peanut gallery. ;)

Still no reply from them – I’ll give it another day before sending another email.

But for now – can’t register online as the form won’t allow it.

Got an email this morning saying that the seminar is open to everyone, just to make up an address in the United States, and the only postcode I know is 90210.

All signed up now, ready to go.

Nice work, Eugene. In case you would like to know a little more about your adopted home, check this out: http://zipskinny.com/index.php?zip=90210

It’s a site where you can view demographic data based on zip code (there are lots of similar sites).

Thanks for that Mike, that will come in handy.

“The only postcode I know is 90120″ … hilarious! I wonder what the Adobe marketers will think when all these Beverly Hills people appear to be attending the eSeminar.

@AM: They’ll think they can raise the prices. :)

Ha ha – oh no what have I started.

    On a side note, it’s the 9 Feb 2010 – or – 9-02-10 – freaky or what?

Pity they just didn’t make their form better? Get a true demographic of who attended.

Ah well – off to Beverly Hills! Pity the Fresh Prince of Bel Air never mentioned the Post Code in the show? Then I could have two cool places to fake live in America.
