RE: DTP Tools to make a free Keyboard Shortcuts plug-in.

just discovered this (possibly) handy utility but it won’t install – i get the following: “adobe InDesign/InCopy CS3 must be installed to install Keyboard shortcuts Panel.” i only have ID CS3. i assume its looking for ID CS3 in it’s default location where mine is located here: C:\Program Files\Adobe\CS3\Adobe InDesign CS3. since its on autopilot, i can’t change parameters. any workarounds?

@Roland… it looks like you missed it… well, sorta.

It IS in the Tools section, but it’s noted as OPTION+SPACEBAR as that kills two birds with one stone — accessing the hand tool in layout OR text mode.

Why bother with the OPTION or SPACEBAR separately, when you can hardwire a shortcut that serves both purposes..

Of course some of the shortcuts listed in the INDD/PDF are not included in the Keyboard Shortcuts panel, and only in the Adobe Help Center. Some aren’t even documented in the Adobe Help Center.

Maybe I overlooked it, but it looks like “spacebar = hand tool” is missing from the PDF…?

Wow, wasn’t expecting such a nice plug

As David mentioned it’s just getting off the ground. I have lots of organizing to do. I just thought it would make for a great spot where I could control it a little better. I’ll be breaking down the INDD and PDF in posts and adding blurbs on different techniques I used. Some of which I picked up right here, at indesignsecrets.com!
