We talked about QuickApply in this episode. Coincidentally, Tim Cole went into more detail (especially in how to use QA for styles) in today’s BackChannel blog post.
I just want to make a small amendment to David’s assertion that all the white space options in the menu are fixed spaces. In fact the flush space option is not.
This is great when you have a line of justified text and you want to separate each word to fit across a column. If you insert a flush space instead of a normal space between the words, it works like a treat.
Good point, Denise! Though the flush space does appear to still be a non-breaking character, along with the other white space characters (at least I can’t get it to break).
I have long complained that the specialty spaces are non-breaking spaces.
I wanted a version of the thin space to be breaking as well as non-breaking.
Same for the punctuation and hair spaces.
But then someone accused me of splitting hairs.
Har har har…
but I totally agree with you, Sandee.
Just wanted to let you know that the link to see a closeup of the poster for the CS3 shortcuts references the CS2 poster instead.
