Please Do Not Adjust Your Set: Site Maintenance

Regular visitors to InDesignSecrets may have noticed a few tweaks to the blog were done over the weekend. We’ll be talking about these in a day or so; but in the meantime, we’re solving some growing pains by moving to a new server.  During the move, which shouldn’t take more than a few hours (knock wood), we’ll be closing comments to the blog.

Thanks so much for your patience!

I turned comments back on, they should be on throughout the site now.

Were the podcast transcripts always available? Those are great. If not just for the weird things that happen in them. :-)

@LuisRM: Yes, we’ve had transcripts available for several years now. I think the earliest podcasts were never transcribed, and the most recent ones take a couple of months to get up there… but we try.

The Bing serach really threw me yesterday. None of the IDSecrets pages were coming up in the search results. Are you expecting any further hiccups or do you think we’re good?

Oh between the new membership option, the new server, the slightly new design/CSS, and the new forums (which will open up momentarily) that all happened concurrently, I’m sure we’ll have further hiccups. ;-)

The Bing search wasn’t fully implemented before we went live, sorry about that!

Bing should be working better now. I’d love to hear if people think it’s better/same/worse than the Google search we had before.

I am looking for something in particular and have referred to it easily in the past, but am having a heck of a time finding it now. Perhaps it is just what I am keying in… I think with some usage, it’ll be an easy adjustment.
