That’s the way I read the tech note also. Since many people routinely install whatever shows up in the Adobe Updater, simply installing the update and having it fail to install correctly could apparently cause the problem, whether or not you actually used Version Cue.

I believe that the problem can affect anybody, whether or not they’re using Version Cue.
