Yes, Teacup software is still among the best stuff around. I think TypeFitter is very cool, if you need to do this kind of thing day in and day out. However, their site seems to indicate that they haven't updated it for CS3 yet. Hm.

Hi all,

Just shows what can change in a year.

I found this post by accident and it is amazing how quickly the software market changes.

There is so much open source (free) software out there now, would you still put Teacup's up there with the best?

I'm off to read more recent posts

All the best John

Is it Christmas?
At our wonderful InDesign Users Group in Dallas (chaired by A.J. Woods of Media Cats [www.media-cats.com]) along with Lisa Forrester of Adobe, I just won a copy of InCopy to go along with our Creative Suite Premium. Now this from Teacup, for free? Wow! Thank you A.J, Lisa, Adobe & Teacup! (...and to think, the FREE InDesign User Group Meetings are *great* on their own. I won InCopy just chipping in on the raffle to buy the group pizza!) Now, if my InCopy would just arrive... :-)

Actually this plugin is much safer in the hands of a writer/editor than the built in tools. You can set the parameters that it will use and if you need to fit some copy it will do a much nicer job than have the writer just playing around with tracking, scaling and kerning.

I always thought writers should keep away from doing this sort of adjustments and leave it for the designers, but… whatever!
