The InDesign Seminar Tour Comes to America

[Note that this blog post is from 2009. The new seminar tour is available at indesignsecretslive.com]

Look out, America, here we come! The two of us (Anne-Marie and David) are going on tour to a city near you. At least, it’ll be near you if you’re near Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Minneapolis, New York, or Philadelphia. We’ll probably also add one or two more cities (such as Chicago), as soon as venues can be confirmed. The InDesign Seminar Tour is brought to you by MOGO Media (the presenters of the successful InDesign Conference), InDesign Magazine, and co-sponsored by InDesignSecrets (of course), Gridiron Flow, and Adobe.

In fact, every attendee to the seminar gets a free 1-yr subscription to InDesign Magazine! Woo-hoo! (Plus, we’re working out some deals to get attendees some other goodies, like a free plug-in, discounts, and so on.)

We’ll be covering a variety of subjects in this day-long seminar, including:

  • The Top 10 Tricks Every InDesign User Must Know
  • Tips for working with text and graphics
  • Layout Techniques
  • How InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop Work Together
  • Troubleshooting InDesign Problems
  • 20 Free Scripts and Plug-ins That You Must Have
  • And a final wrap-up Q&A session we call “Problem? Solution.”

(Just to clear up any confusion before it starts: Only Anne-Marie or David will be in each city… it’s too dangerous to put us in the same place at the same time. Tip overload! Check the MogoSeminars.com site for details.)

(And just to clear up any confusion regarding the title of this blog post: We wrote it this way so that when we expand the tour someday we can use the same template… “…comes to the Greek Isles for a Month,” “…comes to Antarctica,” and so on.)

The whole day is only $100 (or $125 if you register less than 30 days before the event), so hurry to sign up! It’ll be good, and good for you, too.

(Plus, flights from Europe are cheap right now, so hop across the puddle and join us!)

See you soon!

[Added later that same day: Here's a coupon code for 15% off the seminar: : AMCTIME09 ]

Hey this looks interesting. I see that Anne-Marie will be in Minnesota. Do you show tips/tricks with ID4 or ID3? Are these plug-ins for both Mac and PC? It seems that that the seminar is pretty universal for both, but I was just curious.

We have a great InDesign User Group here and we would love to have you here!

@Luis: Yes, most of what we are covering is for both Mac and Windows. We will likely be using CS4, but I would say more than 70% of what we’re teaching is relevant to CS3 (and perhaps even for CS2) users.

@Mariella: Thanks for the invite. That is definitely one of the cities we’ve considered.

David and I were talking that even though only one of us “at a time” will be presenting, the other one could dial in via Connect (if we have a decent Internet connection) for a little while and participate. Assuming we can coordinate…

We did a 30 minute presentation via Connect for the Auckland NZ InDesign User Group that way a few weeks ago, it was a lot of fun!

… Remembering beautiful Albuquerque and how the Sandia Casino would pick you up/drop you off at any hotel for free …

Hey, I just found out we can offer people an additional 15% off the seminar! I’m going to include that in the post above.

I want to go back to Albuquerque, but partly to drive up to Santa Fe and eat at Gabriel’s restaurant.

I’ll get down on my knees and beg if it will help. It won’t be pretty, but I’ll do it!

Oh I might be able to go to the September one… early reports on flight and hotel comes in at €640 – so I may get better prices from other places. Of course it depends where in New York it is – tis a big place.

Good to see a heads up on dates for later on the year. How likely are the dates/locations to change?

I know you guys are kidding about hopping across the puddle, but if you can get a Chicago date sometime in the summer when it’s hot — real hot — I’ll seriously consider getting out of the freezing Irish rain for a week or two. I used to live in Chicago, but I haven’t been back for 16 years, and I’m homesick!

WAAAAH! Why can’t you visit Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, or Austin? Every spot you’ve picked is more than a day’s drive. We need you here!
