Matthew - You jumped the gun on my next videocast! :) In fact, menu item color-coding is built into CS3, and I'll be showing that in Episode 39 (InDesign CS3: A Second Look). For now, however, panels will remain gray.

Ralf - The only Spotlight-related feature in InDesign CS3 that I can find is the ability to view Spotlight info in the Link Information dialog box. In the Links panel menu, you choose Link Information, then click the Spotlight button in the resulting dialog box to view Spotlight data.

Still no support for different-sized pages in documents -- but there's still DTP Tools' Page Control plug-in (http://www.dtptools.com/product.asp?id=pcid) for that functionality.

You know, after looking at all those beautiful panels, the one thing that strikes me is...they're all still gray. Now I know gray is the new black, and there's something to be said for uniformity so that panels in flaming colors don't become distractions, but there's got to be a middle ground. I color-code all kinds of things to make them more visually apparent even before I've read the label or grokked the icon. Any chance Adobe (or some enterprising third party) might give us the ability to colorize our panels and Menu items?

hi michael. at first thanks for the nice preview of the new interface. it looks pretty pretty promising. but i have two questions left i havent found anything on the indesign cs3 info pages yet.
will indesign cs3 finally provide a spotlight plugin for indexing text content of id documents?
will indesign finally allow indesign documents with different sized masterpages and margins?
would be nice if you could bring some light into the dark :D aside go on with those awesome podcasts. i love them :)

Hi Michael - you've really wet our appetites for what else is included in this major upgrade with that teaser! Really looking forward to your forthcoming InDesigner podcasts to show us ALL about CS3. Keep up the high standards. Regards, Brendan
