I spoke at the Ignite session too, on automating catalogue production using InDesign. InDesign's XML capabilities are superb, in my opinion, and robust, too. We create complex, long catalogues using XSL and XML. The best book on the market was reviewed on this site <a href="http://indesignsecrets.com/a-designers-guide-to-indesign-and-xml.php" rel="nofollow">here</a> and is thoroughly to be recommended. It's my fervent aim to spread the word on using XML in InDesign - it saves months of effort! Great round up, thanks.
