Hello,
I have an issue with a table I created. Here is an illustration of it.
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/84090718021424875/I was asked to add a new section (marked in red “1.5kg+500g”) to the table but there is no more space on the sheet so instead of adding the section on the right, I decided to add the section below an existing one where there was still space. The issue is that I can’t make the new title row higher or it’ll change the height of the entire row and if I leave it like it is, as you see, the title seems to be squeezed and it’s not very aesthetic. Is there a way to independently change the height of that red title/row?
Thanks

Hi Linda, I’m not quite sure what you want to do (despite helpfully providing the screen shot), but to change the height of a row, you just select it and enter an absolute height measure in the Table panel or control panel next to row height. The default is “At Least” meaning they’ll autogrow, but it you enter a measure, the row snaps to that height, letting you get some air around the text. The other rows remain their current height.
Is that what you’re asking?

Linda,
I believe what you want to do is make the new section 3 rows in height (or close to it). The only way I can think of without changing the entire row (which it sounds like you don’t want to do) is to move the data for the new section down two rows, then you can highlight the existing new section header plus the two rows below, and merge the cells. This gives you the triple height section header without changing the actual height of the cells to the left or right of the header.

From a design perspective, it looks like the red rows are equal Sections and should have the same height.
I see two options:
• Make a color change to the 1,kg+500g cell to indicate what the difference is between the top red row and the bottom red row.
• or Clear the References and # de sac(s) from the bottom row, they are not necessary. (just keep 1,5kg cell)If space is an issue, you can look at making the item font size smaller or scaled (i.e. 95% horizontal), and adjust the cell insets.

Hello, everyone! Thank you so much for each feedback to my question. I have taken a new screenshot, which I believe illustrates much better what I’m trying to do:
Here it is: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/7d/89/f0/7d89f01534d01c05f6d882aad2d35a56.png
Actually, Jake’s method does work! Thank you :)

I think the only method to do it is through merging cells, as Jake noted.
