Dears
I’m Egyptian Art director , I’m familiar with using indesign in publishing … but I’m new in digital publishing & ePub
I do some trellis for converting Arabic inDesign books files to ePub3 … using inDesign Cs6 & CC
I learned a lot from Anne-Marie “Lynda” corse “inDesign 6 to ePub” … very useful , Thank you Anne-Marie … and the book ““Digital Publishing with Adobe InDesign CS6” for “Sandee Cohen & Diane Burns”Actually, I’m facing some problems
1- scripts that work for English not working right with “rtl” languages
2-also the validation gives the following error ( content.opf(24,52): attribute “page-progression-direction” not allowed here; expected attribute “id”)
3- what’s ePub reader support Arabic (iBooks only work on iOS 10.9 – Adobe Digital Editions doesn’t support Arabic)so , any advice … also , any online resources that helps in Arabic epub
Thank You

Hi Omar,
The validation error is due to the fact that page-progression-direction is not supported in EPUB 2 and you have probably exported to EPUB 2 and not EPUB 3. Exporting to EPUB 3 should solve this.
I also don’t have much idea about Arabic ereaders other than iBooks but I have heard good reviews about Lektz ereader. https://www.lektz.com/homes/free_apps. You can surely give it a try!!Regards,

Hi Mr. Omar,
I am converting Arabic WORD format to epub. I use aspose word express the features are perfect with a great font, and it retains the page sequence from beginning to the end, except the direction of page swapping as it swap from right to left rather than the other way.. If I will purchase the indesign middle east. Would I be able to publish epub books by arabic format reading. Thank you.
