I using Data Merge in InDesign CC.
So far everything works great.
I can place one record-set on every page and can place some record-sets on one page.
For the import I use an Excel-File (tab-seperated).
My question:
I want the records shown in a table. Head of the table should be defined, the count of following rows depands on the imported file.
So I defined a table with the head-row and one row with the placeholder.
I need an option that the table in InDesign “auto-expand” – the row-amount depands on the amount of the imported data.
Is that possible? Any clue?

I’m not so in tune with InDesign’s Data Merge functionality, but I think that it’s not the best choice when it comes to tables. But I might be wrong.
Data Merge doesn’t normally do tables, but this script can help:

I show it in my title on Data Merge and database publishing at Lynda.com
