      Hi guys,

I’m trying to raise some funds for a business idea, so I thought coming back to my roots would be a smart idea. I’ll try to make this short:

I’m working on a printing directory for the Asian market (though it could work in other markets as well), check it out at http://www.pigments.io. It’s really basic right now (You could search for some listings in Cebu, Davao and Singapore) right now. I’m currently looking for shops across Asia in major cities. My plan is to have them online by the end of the week, then once everything is structured give every shop its own store site, similar to what you can see here: http://www.pigments.io/wip (really early work in progress).

The idea is to turn this into a marketplace like airbnb, so the goal is to make it easy to book a print shop (and fix many issues with print shops in Asia along the way). The truth is, I’m freaking broke. I want to start making money with this next month but I’m ridiciously broke, you have no idea. So I can’t actually afford registering a business. Which is why I started a crowdfunding campaign/lending campaign. I’m looking for donations or people to lend me money (to be paid back) via these sites:

      Funding: fundanything.com/en/campaigns/fixing-the-printing-industry-my-depression
      Lending: https://www.kiva.org/campaign/3387

I’m a designer/web developer based in the Philippines, so if you are looking to hire someone for freelance work, hit me up. I do graphic/UI design and some web development, I also hold workshops/talks and speak at Google events sometimes and do some consulting for startups (mostly on improving their pitches/pitch decks). You can read about my latest workshop here: https://blog.pigments.io/post/133112744270/material-design-workshop-for-startups-expressing

And my portfolio is here: behance.net/AndreasGalster

Like I said, I’m broke as hell, so I really don’t care how I raise money right now. If you need someone to do some work for you, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with me :).

I know, it wasn’t short. I suck at being short about this topic ;). Thanks for your time if you’ve taken the time to read over this.

Hi Andreas, wow that sounds pretty cool. Can you explain the difference between the fundanything and the kiva sites?

Hi David, I’m glad you like it :). The difference is pretty simple:

Fundanything is donation based, so meaning you donate as much money as you’d like and you’ll never see it again (or at least I’m not legally required to). Though I intend to pay it forward to anyone donating, perhaps with discounts or other stuff we’ll organize with Pigments.

Kiva is a lending platform. You can only lend 25$ and I am legally required to pay you back, so you should have a guaruantee that what I borrowed will be paid back to you.

By the way just out of curiosity: Do you fly over to Asia for conferences?

Hi guys, we’ve moved our campaign over to Indiegogo and made it better I would say. It’s also more of a startup Friends, Family & Fools Fundraiser rather than a personal fundraiser.

If you check out http://www.pigments.io you’ll see that we have made a looot of progress. We have a lot of shops on our site now and tomorrow contacting the shops will be a breeze! Still like the idea? Please consider sharing, donating or maybe letting a local print shop that you would like to see on our site know about us :).

Hi Andreas, looks like you have a great idea going here. I hope my small donation will help. Good luck with it!
