Is it possible to create a document size library that could be acessed on file>new>document?? or does it only allow for individual saved sizes??
My group deals with multiple publications with varying column widths. Our current design software allows the user to save multiple sizes in “sets” for a given publication.
i understand that i could create/save a 1 col. document, 2 col. doc, 3 col. doc, etc etc etc as custom documents but that would make for a very long list. lol
my goal is to create “size sets” by publication or type. with ability to call them out on new without having to open a template library etc..
the user would select new document..which would execute the script prompting the user to pick from list of preset publication > the script would display available column width options for that pub. (ex: 1 column, 2 column etc), the user would select the desired column width and then be prompt for a depth..which the user would input manually. after the user made their selections it would create the desired document
obviously i would have to define the column widths (in inches) within the script
i am very very new to Indesign so any help would be appreciated..don’t know if this is doable or not. i am guessing it would involve an event listener but beyond that i am not sure
maybe it can’t be done?? or maybe there is better way..not sure
any help would be greatly appreciated R
