Hello!
First post so go easy on me please. I’ve been given hundreds of tariff posters to update. They have 4 columns which contain a product name (burger), Sandwich price, Kcal, Meal Price, Kcal. The Kcal value is contained within a lozenge which is an anchored text box pasted into the cell. (see below).

Now, I really don’t want to copy and paste each kcal value individually into the lozenge as it will take forever. So I started playing around and managed several things but nothing overly helpful.
I Set up a lozenge using an object style with a nested paragraph style. This works if I paste the column from excel, use a script to split each return into a separate box and then apply the object style, however, I then still have to copy and paste each lozenge into each individual cell as I can’t do them all together.
Next, I tried, Object, Anchored Object and could get the lozenge into the cell but then had to input the kcal value after.
So now i’m stuck. I’d hoped I’d be able to use an object style on a table cell and format the entire column but I can’t see any way to do it without inputting everything manually.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks.

I just used an img src tag to include the image here, for easier viewing.
This is not easy in InDesign because it won’t let you create rounded corners in table cells. Does it have to be a single table? One possibility is to have a table with the numbers in it and a second table (or just group of objects) with those shapes sitting above the table.
Another option might be to use a special font for those columns… a font that would include the rounded rectangle around the numbers. Or using paragraph rules:

Thank you so much David, I’ll look into those. Funnily enough my collegue was just trawling Lynda to see if we could find any answers and was watching one of your videos! Small world and all that.
