Hi there,
We’ve been working on converting our first file, using CS6. The one problem we have is that when the EPUB is in iBooks it reads the wrong way, so that you have to tap on the left side of the screen to get to the next page rather than on the right side.
Does anyone have any idea why this would happen and how to fix it?
Thanks!
Priya
Update: I see in iBooks there is a setting that allows you to turn to the next page from either a left or the right tap. Even though this is disabled on all the devices the EPUB was loaded onto, could this be what is causing the problem?
Further update: It seems that the problem is with the file that we are working on; other files exported to EPUB paginate fine. The iBooks option mentioned above corresponds to the ability to change page progression direction in EPUB 3. We tried specifying left-to-right pagination in the book but it does not validate as an EPUB 2 and does not render correctly in iBooks – it keeps flipping to the same page and the internal TOC doesn’t navigate to the correct places.
Not sure what to try next. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I recently came across this posting while encountering the same problem. What had happened was, that one of our production staff, had sent out the final ePub with the Metadata set to Arabic language. Once we located this and changed it to English, the book fixed itself. Hope you found your answer.
Thanks Drahcir! I was going to suggest the same.
