      Hello,

I’m asked by a french speaking client to insert what’s called “une espace fine insécable”.

I see there is a nonbreaking space available in Indesign but they are asking for a narrow nonbreaking space, I believe.

I found a hair space which is narrow but is it also nonbreaking?

      Thanks
      Linda

You would probably have to use a combination of a Hair Space (or some other small white space) and the No Break formatting.

      Hello, thanks for your feedback.

Doesn’t the hair space act like a no break space?
How can I use a combination of it and the no break formatting?

      Thanks
      Linda

Oh, that was silly of me. Yes, the hair space is non-breaking by default. I had forgotten that.
So… it sounds like that is what your client wants… yes?

It is a thin space (Cmd-alt-shift M) with a French keyboard. We use it before the question mark, exclamation mark and semicolon
