So I am studying for my ace and few people recommended me to get examaids for InDesign. Has any of you used it?!? I have been studying from InDesign classroom in a book but I am pretty sure I need more than that. Any thoughts and suggestions peeps?!?
      Thanks in advance

I tried it a while ago, they were pretty good, the questions were similar to the style the ACE used. The company’s been around a long time, too, which is a good sign.

That make sense, I got a month of the iPassExam just to give it a try, they are suggested by the adobe marketplace but i really don’t think that they’re challenging enough… I really want to get my my ACE before PepCon…

      anyways thanks Anne-Marie!
(i can’t see my reply so i am replying again… weird huh)

Sorry, your replies were held for moderation. Not sure why. Sometimes that happens.

      Hi Dario

The CIAB series is good for learning how to use Adobe software but its primary focus is not on preparing you for the ACE exams. However, our exam aids are laser-focused on the objectives and topics you need to study to prepare for the exam!

Each question in our exam aids is accompanied by hyperlinks to corresponding pages of the application’s help should you need to study further. The examEngine is interactive (study, practice, review, add notes, etc). You can download a demo and read unsolicited testimonials by visiting our website (www.examaids.com).

Unfortunately, being UK-based, we cannot sell from the Adobe marketplace, which is a shame because lots of people land on its pages but the study material is woefully inadequate in my view.

For example, our InDesign CC ACE Exam Aid contains 425 questions, not sure how many the iPassExam guide contains from their blurb or how many of those are for the InDesign CS6 exam but nowhere near 425.

Other exam guides also lack focus. You don’t have to take my word for it, read the testimonials from customers on Examaids.com.

      Shangara Singh.

      Hello Anne-Marie, David and Dario,

I have been an InDesign user for over 9 years now and I consider myself to be proficient at it.

I have a professional and personal goal to become an Adobe Certified Expert in InDesign, but despite my work experience with the program and LinkedIn Learning training, I did not pass the exam, last 9/16/19. It was more complex and convoluted than I expected and I thought some questions were difficult to understand.

So, I’m reaching out to ask if you know of a reputable resource to prepare for the exam. I have read about Examaids.com, for example, but I don’t know whether their method is optimal to help one prepare and pass the exam. I know their site features a comment by David B. reviewing the program in a positive light.

Dario– Which company did you end up using, and have you obtained your ACE in InDesign?

I appreciate any word of advice!

      Regards,

      Diego

      Hi Diego,
Sadly, we have not been involved with the ACE exams for a number of years, and I am not sure what the status is. I have heard that the exam has a lot of problems. I’m sorry to hear you had problems with it.

Have you considered the ACA exam instead? That might be a better solution.

Mike Rankin (indesignsecrets.com editor in chief) has a course on LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com) on this: https://www.linkedin.com/learning/cert-prep-adobe-certified-associate-indesign-2/stand-out-by-becoming-an-adobe-certified-associate?u=2125562

      Hello David,

Thank you for the quick response and I’m sorry too that you guys are not involved with the ACE exams. I appreciate the suggestion regarding the Adobe Certified Associate route – I am actually in the process of taking his course. If you or Anne-Marie hear anything about a good way to prepare for the ACE exam, please let me know. I am not expecting you to endorse any one organization or method, but any word of advice from you is very much appreciated.

Thank you also for the wonderful content you have shared with the InDesign community throughput the years, I find your knowledge and expertise inspiring!

On a different note, the feature to update one’s profile photo doesn’t seem to work… is this a known glitch?

      -Diego
