I converted an InDesign print document to an Epub. It looks great when I test it on my iPad except for one problem, all the fonts but one are forms of Stempler font. This works fine. The other font is Archer Thin. InDesign doesn’t recognize it. It looks fine in the document, but in the Epub, all the letters are next to one another. Once upon a time to Onceuponatime. When I try to exchange the font, it won’t let me delete the Archer Thin. The whole Epub validates even with the squished up words. I am ready to introduce the read-along audio and highlighting code to the xhtml, but I want to get this problem resolved first.

      Please help,

      Janis

Hi Janis. What type of font is the one you are having problems with? For EPUB fonts must be TrueType or OpenType so that would be the first thing to check.

Beyond that it sounds as if the individual word positioning that InDesign uses is causing problems perhaps?

If you would prefer to use PostScript fonts, to have text positioned by text frame instead of by word and to add your read aloud text highlighting without coding then please give my company’s software CircularFLO a try! (https://CircularFLO.com)

      Hi Ken,

The font is Archer Thin and it is True Type. I have plenty of fonts but I am having trouble replacing this one.

      Thanks for the reply.

I went to your CircularFlo page. It looks fantastic, but at this time I don’t have a Mac. I only have an iPad and I am using InDesign on my pc.
I have the audio all tagged already, so I am going to have to code it myself. I will get a Mac as soon as I make enough money to buy one.
I have not done anything else but learn InDesign and how to do the audio for several months.

Thanks for the help. I have bookmarked your site,

      Thanks,

      Janis
