Here is a puzzle,
I have a 44 page cs 5.5 InDesign document and when I export a single page in the pdf preset ?smallest File Size?the pdf file comes out at 1.2 mb which is good for me to email for approval
Now I open the same document in InDesign 6 and save as the export under the same preset ?Smallest File Size?the same page and I get a 9.8mb. if I delete all the elements on the page so it?s a blank page and pdf page still comes out at 9.8mb, strange. If I copy and past into a new single page pdf the file it come out at 1.2mb.
I have tried this with lots of documents and it always happens on multi page documents. Single page file doesn?t appear to cause any problems
I have checked all the image files, they are all reasonable size files. We use Universal type server, but I have disconnected from that, i have even outlined all the fonts, but no joy
If I make a postscript file and run it through distiller on the ?smallest setting ? it comes out less than 1mb. This is causing our Publishing department problems as we can not upgrade them to InDesign cs6,
Has anyone come across this problem I would appreciate if anyone can test brochure/ multi page documents from cs5.5 and open in cs6. i need to see if this is local to our environment
Thanks
paul
