I have an idea that I hope experts can either help me make real – or tell me it’s not possible so that I can get back to working on the possible.
I have a one page EPUB document. On that document I would like to include pricing information. Prices will be different for each of three potential audiences, A, B, and C. Let’s say a box of marbles will be $30 for A, $27 for B, and $32 for C.
With my idea, the pricing amount in a field is default $0. But, when user types a given pricing code into a separate input text field – say A types “EX35B” and hits enter – the amount in the pricing form field changes from $0 to $30. Of course, B and C would have unique pricing codes that only they know. Anything typed other than the three codes returns the default $0. This way, a single document can be shared globally, but important detail can be visible only with the provided code to the respective intended audience.
I can – and have – done this in Acrobat DC for interactive PDF. Can this be done somehow in inDesign for EPUB deployment?
Thank you for your thoughts on this.
