      Hi everyone,
I have a 260+ page manual set up using an InDesign book. There are three main sections of the manual, and each section has a number of chapters set up as an individual InDesign file. The chapters use a numbering system (set up as paragraph styles) like this:
      100 Fruit
      100.1 Apple
      100.1.1 Red apples
      100.1.2 Green apples
      100.2 Bananas
The next chapter (InDesign doc) in the section would start the numbering at 200)
Figuring out how to add the .1 and 1.1 was easy, as each sub-level is simply a new level in the, but the numbering restarts with each section of the manual. When I update the documents in the book, it reverts all those first numbers to whatever the number of the style source, and I have to manually go in and change the paragraph style. I know I can turn off paragraph styles when I sync, but in several instances, I’ve needed para styles synched. As there are 30 chapters total, that’s a lot of wasted time.
Is there a better way to set up my initial paragraph numbering?
      Thanks!
