Numbered tickets

Hi All,
I’ve created a document of numbered tickets (text frames) on a master page.
The problem I have is numbering the tickets. I’ve defined a numbered list and created a numbered list style (see https://creativepro.com/making-numbered-tickets.php).
The problem I get is that the ticket numbers aren’t all in the correct sequence, I was expecting the left to right, in rows going down the page.
Is there a failsafe way of doing this without using the ‘Cheesy’ numbering method?
