Learn / Forums / General InDesign Topics / Open an Embeded PDF within PDF through hyperlink
Hi,
I’m stuck with a little problem.
I know how to embed a pdf in a pdf; and create hyperlinks in pdf and in InDesign.
But the problem is that I want to open a PDF which is embeded in the main PDF file using a hyperlink.
Moreover, is there any way I can do the same from within InDesign, i.e.
a) embed a PDF in InDesign;
b) hyperlink it;
c) exporting a PDF (hyperlinks enabled) from InDesign
d) allowing the embedded pdf to export along with the newly exported PDF (It will be similar to: creating a pdf and then embedding another pdf)
So, when a user clicks the hyperlink in the PDF, he will be able to open the embedded pdf from within.
Please advise.
PS:
So whenever a user clicks on the hyperlink in the main PDF file, the attached PDF should opens up.
It is a great idea, but no, InDesign cannot do this.
Thanks David for reverting on this. Is there any way I can achieve the same in the PDF itself.
i.e.
I’ll attach/embed another PDF in the main PDF
create a hyperlink in the main PDF and action it to open the attached pdf in a new window.
any ideas?
how about a script? if there is any :)
Hurray…
I got what I was looking… :)
