I use InDesign for all my advertisements I make for newspapers and magazines, therefore I always use our stock standard branding – logo, and certain graphics.
It would save me heaps of time if I could just open InDesign – specify my page size and have everything there ready to go – is this possible in any way…..
Which leads me to my second question – when should i use indesign for making ads and when would i use illustrator???
Thanks!
Why not using templates? You make them once and use them over and over again. We have some 20 templates with styles, logo’s, sample text … ready to be used.
Illustrator, use it for creating complex vector graphics.
I’d stick with InDesign for anything for newspaper or magazines. I use illustrator a lot, but only if my image I’ve made a complex vector and/or I’ve created typographic design in the piece. I always, however, use illustrator for large format like banners, billboards and other outdoor stuff. I think lots of people would stick with InDesign for those jobs too. Gets to be a matter of preference at that point.
I work back and forth with all of the program’s though.
