I just ran into an issue where we had to print a 3 part NCR job. It was all data merged with numbers running from 0-7000,
Each page was built so we could run it in different trays on our Fiery Vario. As well all pages of the had different elements on it. We could not figure out how to run this in such a way where each page of the document would be pulled from different trays and get printed on the different color pages.
In the end we printed each part individually and then hand collated it together. If it had been a 2 part ncr we could of run it fine however that third page didn’t want to work.
Any suggestions, so we don’t have to loose so many man hours of hand collating this big job.
I really don’t know, but it sounds more like a printer driver or printer problem, not specifically InDesign. Or, if you were using some special VDP software, perhaps the problem is there?
I completely agree with David. That is a printer problem, not a problem of InDesign.
If your Canon/OCE vario interfaces with the Fiery RIP, you would control this from the VDP tab in the job properties on the Fiery… perhaps this question would be better directed to Fiery’s manufacturer, EFI – http://www.efi.com.
