I’ve searched for a way to do this, but so far no luck. I have a single InDesign document, containing a number of short essays. I have it so that there is a space separating essays, not a page break of any kind, so the end of one and the start of the next occur on the same page. Since each essay has its own footnotes, is there a way to restart the footnotes from ‘1’ for each essay, but have them build up at the bottom of the page as normal?
I like the way essays run into each other on the same page, so would like to maintain this feature, but not if restarting footnotes like this is impossible.
In this example, footnote ‘6’ would be ‘1’: https://robbiedawson.com/footnote-example.png
Nope, not possible to restart footnote numbering on the same page — unless you divide the essays into two separate text frames, one on top of the other, and are okay with the last footnotes of the top text frame appearing above the title of the second essay in the bottom frame…
Ah that’s a shame. Thanks for the confirmation anyhow.
