I recently had all of my settings swiped on my computer so I’m trying to rebuild all of the customization I had before in the programs I use. One major thing I noticed is missing is the ability to choose “Edit With > Adobe Illustrator” from a linked pdf.. Does anyone know how I can set this up? I was able to choose “Other…” and navigate to the Illustrator Application but I have to do it over every time. Before it was right on the drop down. Bonus points if you know how to set this as default within InDesign.

You can change the file association by opening Bridge and going to the preferences>File Type associations. Find PDF and change the pull down menu to the right to Illustrator.

Sweet! Thank you! Do you know a way to set this so that “Edit Original” Chooses Illustrator over Acrobat?

Changing the file association should do just that.
