Hi Everyone,
It’s been a while, InDesign was treating me well lately. Up until now. We are a team of three, working on PCs. All of us has the same version of InDesign. I created templates that use a lot of predefined paragraph and character styles, and they were working nicely.
Lately we noticed a glitch, that only happens to my two other colleagues, not me. When they want to change any settings of the paragraph styles (or in the style that it’s based on), that use letters as numbering style format, the format jumps to numbers instead of letters, and we’re unable to prevent it. Again, it’s working for me, I can change anything in the exact same files, but not them.
It’s not that bad, as I don’t like if anyone is messing around the paragraph styles, but sometimes we need to change things to fit the documents in funny sized boxes, etc. Have you ever experienced this? I already tried resetting their preferences, but it doesn’t work.
Thanks,
Zita
Never seen that. When they edit the paragraph styles the Format changes to numbers? Very odd.
Zita, are you using “Next Style”? If the Next Style is bulleted with numbers, then it would come up if they press Return.
Other than that, are you using a Word Imported List or just the InDesign default? That’s all I got.
Check your Based On in the style as well and change it to “no paragraph style”
