So, tables usually break automatically to flow to the next threaded text frame. I have some that won’t and I can’t figure out why. There are no really tall rows, so that is not the issue. Making the text frames wider does not make a difference. It’s like it wants to keep the entire chart in the same frame, but I am not aware of anything I could have selected to cause it to behave this way. Inserting manual breaks is my last resort (I do NOT want to use [Table>Cell Options>Rows & Columns>Keep Options>Start Row>In Next Frame] but want InDesign to do what it usually does automatically). Right now all the rows are set to start a new row “Anywhere” so that is not the issue either. There are fillable fields inserted in almost every cell, but I don’t see why that would make a difference. Has anyone else had this issue?
Also, I have some merged columns, but no merged rows.
I have found that the merged columns cause the issue. I cannot remember my solution, but it was a manual fixit something like just making a new row in the next frame and putting the data in from there.
I have the problem I described with multiple tables, some have merged columns, others do not. :(
I recreated the tables using newly created table and cell styles (someone else created the previous ones) and I’m no longer having the problem. I’m not sure exactly what was causing it, but this fix works for me.
