Hi there. When I adjust my gutter to .25, everything is good. The problem comes when I shade a box and need to use inset spacing. It seems to throws off the spacing within the column lines. Is there a good way for me to figure out what to use for the gutter to keep things all the way around? Thanks.
Not sure what you mean by “keep things all the way around.” If you add 6 pt inset spacing on the left and right, and it’s a 2 column frame, then you’d need to come up with 12 points somewhere to keep the columns the same width — either by subtracting that from the column gutter or by making the frame wider.
That makes sense, thanks. I am working with a 3 column frame, inset at .125. I put the gutter at .25, and it looks good. It doesn’t line up with the vertical margin lines (or the columns above that are not inset, but I guess that is impossible.
