Hi Linda

I agree - I read the entire user guide in my spare time, and found it doesnt help all that much. After reading it, I then had 2 weeks before my exam for active study. In the last two weeks I learnt more than in the 3 months of casual reading. I can recommend using the Exam Aids Program, they go through the relevant sections with multiple choice answers. I also have conference material from the New York Indesign Conference (last June). I am not sure if this is available anywhere now. I took the exam the day before they pulled the bad exam and failed by one question. I feel that the main reason I failed was due to taking too long, with ambiguous questons, re-reading over and over to make sure I understood it right. I completed the last 20 questions in 15mins and missed answering the very last one due to being timed out.

I must say going through these blogs has also been great study material.

I'm pleased to report that I finally got around to taking the online recertification test (31 questions) and passed with only 4 questions missed.

I know that I got one actually wrong (involving formatting a rollover state of a button). The other 3 must have been among the dozen or so that were ambiguous, poorly worded, or--in one case--just plain insane.

That said, the majority of the questions were fair, and far better than the CS2 test I took. That is, they tended to ask questions that really did test knowledge of the program, rather than focus on picayune things that no one needs to know. So I'm pleased with Adobe's progress.

Hi, could anyone recommend what materials I should study to pass the InDesign CS3 exam? I read the Users Guide and use the program extensively but, it wasn't enough to pass it the 1st time, help!

David,

I had the same problem for both PS & ID recertification exams. What happened was that prometric had supplied me with two new Adobe ID's each time I passed my exam for some reason. I contacted adobe about this, they did a search and found all three Adobe ID numbers assigned to my name and merged them into my original account. It took them 4 weeks to fix the problem in my case...

Is anyone else getting the runaround from Adobe about having their recertification acknowledged by Adobe? It's been almost 3 weeks since I passed my exam, with nothing from Adobe, and no update at my Certified Community page. E-mails have been answered with a stock "i've passed this along to the appropriate people to be fixed".

Frustrating, and I know of at least one other person who this is happening to as well...

Hello all, well, I've just completed my InDesign REcertification test, and I'm happy to report that I passed with a score of 100%. Much better than the my 64% from the last horribly written test.
I'm still not completely happy with the test, but the questions have all been rewritten and are much clearer. If I didn't know the exact answer, I could at least follow their line of thought and get the answer (which this time WAS an actual answer).
There were about half the same questions from the previous test, but I think they've been edited a bit to be more clear. The recert test should be able to be passed by competent users of InDesign.
Best of Luck!
