7.5.2 Update for InDesign CS5.5 Fixes ePub and Other Bugs

5

Adobe released the 7.5.2 updater for InDesign CS5.5 today, and it seems to fix a substantial number of ePub and other bugs. Here’s a link to the Mac version: https://t.co/LN2bWKXD and here’s a link to the Windows version: https://t.co/HgIAvp7x

For example, it fixes the ePub bug I reported here earlier as the “Webkit bug”. It was actually, as a commenter to my post reported, an extra space is in the DTD declaration in the HTML file.

In the Adobe InDesign User Forum, John Hawkinson has digested the release notes and has separated out what is fixed in 7.5.2, and which 7.5.1 fixes are also included: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/915694?tstart=0

We caught a costly bug when exporting PDFs out of CS5.5. When the page numbers were separated with a comma in the export dialogue box, InDesign would randomly place the footer of those pages in the gutter or within the body of the text.

Discovered that when the book was being bound.

I’m trying to write my first epub – sometimes the file writes, sometimes not. I reviewed the adobe tutorials, cleaned up my file and once again it won’t write. I would really appreciate someone giving me an idea of some of the problems I could be having. CS5 user. tks!

I?ve created an ePub with images and came across a problem enlarging images using double tap on iPad.
Using the ?Break Document at Paragraph Style? for the heading, the first two pages? images open and enlarge but when I turn the page to open and enlarge the image on the third page the image will not enlarge. The only way I can get the image to enlarge on the third page is by adding a heading above the image and assigning the original Paragraph Style I used to ?Break Document at Paragraph Style?
Interestingly enough on the older version iPod Touch opens all the images. The problem occurs on my iPad2 and new iPod Touch. I would appreciate any advice on this matter.

I am running into many internal hyperlink problems upon exporting to epub from InDesign 5.5.

The 2-way hyperlinks work great when checking in ADE.

The BIG problem is: why does ID5.5 create hyperlinks of entire paragraphs that were not marked for hyperlinking?

    Please help.

    Thank you in advance.
