Check Out Sandee’s New Design into Print Blog and Podcast!

6

You’ve been reading Sandee’s posts and articles and books for years… now check out her new blog and podcast: From Design Into Print. As she explained to me recently: “there are far too many designers (even experienced ones) who have no idea what process/spot colors are, how to change resolutions, convert RGB to CMYK, send a job to a print shop, embed fonts in a PDF, preflight, etc. The book, blog, and podcast (blookcast?) will all deal with these topics. The funnest part for me is doing the podcast as it brings back my youthful dreams of being a late-night radio talk show host.”

Since I’m typing away here, I should also remind you about a few other blogs written by (or podcasts recorded by) friends of ours you should know about:

Jeez, I’m sure I’m leaving lots of people out. But I gotta’ run! Joe-bob says, “Check ’em out!”

David Blatner is the co-founder of the Creative Publishing Network, InDesign Magazine, CreativePro Magazine, and the author or co-author of 15 books, including Real World InDesign. His InDesign videos at LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com) are among the most watched InDesign training in the world.

Here are a few more I subscribe to that I think InDesignSecrets users would enjoy:

    Bert Monroy’s great videocast PixelPerfect

Cari Jansen’s blog and occasional video tutorials

Gabriel Powell had a companion blog/podcast going there for a while after his Instant InDesign book came out last year; but the info is still relevant.

  • Whew! Thanks, Anne-Marie!

Firstly – let me say a big thank you for the resource that is Indesign Secrets.

Just a bit of feedback on the FDIP podcast

I listened to the FDIP podcast and I couldn’t get to the end – it sounds like its been chopped up from a few phases and patched together later on – very hard going on the ear.

Out of gamut colour is an important subject – shame the podcast was such heavy going.

Let’s not forget Michael Murphy’s “The InDesigner” podcasts.

  • The description of the blog says that it is a companion blog for a book by the same title. Will Sandee be placing info for the new book there or creating an all new blog? Is there a place to find all of her stuff?

  • Lauren says:

I added From Design Into Print to my design link list on my blog!
