Enhancements to Align panel options for Guides in InDesign CC 2019
With the CC 2019 release of InDesign, some enhancements were made to the Align panel options for Guides. These were done as part of Properties panel feature work where the goal was to make InDesign more context-aware, depending on the kind/number of objects selected or the specific context which the user is in while working in InDesign.
When a single vertical guide is selected, only three options that are relevant for vertical guides are available for clicking (in the Align Objects section of the panel). All the rest of the options in the other sections (Distribute Objects, Distribute Spacing) are grayed out
Similarly, when multiple vertical guides are selected, in addition to the three options in Align Objects section, (only) the relevant options under the Distribute Objects and Distribute Spacing sections become available.
Likewise, when a single horizontal guide is selected, only three options that are relevant for horizontal guides are available for clicking (in the Align Objects section of the panel). All the rest of the options in the other sections (Distribute Objects, Distribute Spacing) are grayed out.
And, when multiple horizontal guides are selected, in addition to the three options in Align Objects section, (only) the relevant options under the Distribute Objects and Distribute Spacing sections become available.

Ravi, the most often-used commands in the Properties panel for me are Distribute Spacing (horizontal or vertical) yet before I can use these options, I must click on “…” every single time. Is there a way to make these choices stick and stay open, if not all the time, at least for each document?

Yes, in the next update of InDesign CC2019 you’re going to see that the ‘More Options’ are sticky/persistent.
