Free Lynda.com Video: InDesign CC 2015 EPUB Fundamentals
Despite printed books having a 1500 year head start, ebooks have caught up in a major way, and by all accounts, are here to stay. And if you want to learn about the process of making professional quality ebooks, then you should definitely check out Anne-Marie Concepcion’s Lynda.com course, InDesign CC 2015 EPUB Fundamentals.
Here’s the official description:
Learn how to use the software you already know and love for print publications—Adobe InDesign CC—to create great looking ebooks. Learn what’s hidden inside an EPUB, the ebook standard format, and how InDesign can be the fastest road to an EPUB, with its ability to automatically convert your files into the necessary HTML and CSS. As the training progresses, you’ll discover how to optimize existing text, graphics, tables, and videos and tailor your EPUBs specifically for the Kindle, Kobo, and NOOK ereaders. InDesign insider and author Anne-Marie Concepción also shares some free scripts for Mac and Windows that will make your ebook export even faster, as well as features in InDesign CC built especially for ebooks, such as semantic markup and CSS resizing.
Topics include:
- Choosing between fixed-layout and reflowable EPUB
- Creating an EPUB workspace in InDesign
- Managing the sequence of content
- Creating a table of contents for navigation
- Working with book files and Word documents
- Adding metadata
- Cleaning up text formatting

I am going through Ann-Marie’s “InDesign CC 2015 EPUB Fundamentals” video course on Lynda.com and wondered if any information is available on what ePub improvements have been made in the CC 2017 version and where I would find that? Thanks for your help.
