Master collection of linguistic products includes grammar checking, a thesaurus, plus additional spelling and hyphenation tools.

You’ve probably seen the funny phrase about the importance of proper punctuation: “Let’s eat Grandma!” vs. “Let’s eat, Grandma!” The point is, punctuation matters. Language is important! Every day we mix letters, words, and punctuation to communicate and, increasingly, we do so in multiple languages. The more you can communicate, effectively, whether in English or Uzbek, the more value you will add for your clients and to your company. If your language needs are greater than InDesign/InCopy’s built-in support of 30+ languages, consider MindSuite Pro from Mindsteam Software, a company that specializes in multilingual publishing.

  • Anita says:

    Does this software enable the author to dispense with the need for a proofreader and localisation?

  • Jamie McKee says:

    @Anita-
    Not in my opinion. The software adds missing functionality to InDesign but is not a replacement for a good proofreader.

  • Anita says:

    Thank you, Jamie, for your comments. They’re a great help!

  • Do you have a link to a more detailed explanation? That at Mindsream link says little, mostly stressing how many languages it supports. I couldn’t find any YouTube videos either.

    I’d be more interested in vocabularies than languages, as in medical, legal and scientific.

    • Jamie McKee says:

      Michael-
      Beyond this review and MindSteam’s own website, not that I’m aware of. If you have specific questions, you should contact them.

      If you search YouTube for “MindGrammar Pro” you’ll find a couple of videos showing how that product works, but that’s the only one I could find of the suite.

      Finally, MindSteam focuses more on languages than on vocabularies. From their website: “We specialize in multilingual publishing, and our commercial products assist those companies publishing materials in more than one language.”

    Michael,

    I would like to get group pricing. Could you let me know who I should contact?
