    Does InDesign support hypenating Spanish?

    • Mike Rankin says:

Sure, you just have to apply the Spanish language to the text you want to hyphenate. You can do that by selecting the text and choosing Spanish from the Language menu in the Control panel, or as part of a paragraph or character style.

Thanks Mike, I’ll try that on the next book. My translator, as a last review, checked all the hypenated words and supplied me with a list of words, and their syllables, to correct. I did it by hand using the Discretionary Hypen command. Cntr/Shift/minus. Hopefully, using your suggestion next time, will save us some time!

        Thanks again,
        Linda
