To activate the last-used field in the last-used panel, press Command+Option+~/Ctrl+Alt+~ [tilde].

For example, if you entered a value in the Weight field of the Stroke panel, you can use this shortcut to reactivate the Weight field and change the stroke weight. It even works if you have since selected a different object.
