Ron Bilodeau Joins All-Star Speaker Lineup at 2011 Print and ePublishing Conference
We’re pleased to announce that Ron Bilodeau — EPUB master at O’Reilly Publishing — will be joining us once again, at the 2011 Print and ePublishing Conference, May 23-25 in Washington DC. This live-only, in-person event focuses on the need for professional publishers and designers to straddle the worlds of paper and pixels, ink and electrons!
Bilodeau will be alongside an all-star international group of expert presenters, including Mordy Golding, Michael Ninness, Cari Jansen, Keith Gilbert, Gabriel Powell, Nigel French, Russell Viers, David Blatner and Anne-Marie Concepcion (hey, that’s us!), and many others.

‘live-only, in-person event’ – how 90s!
Can’t I view a Connect session on my Xoom tablet while commuting to work? :)
The truth is that David and I do so much “remotely” … this blog, the podcast, the webinars, the lynda.com videos … that the conference is the only chance we get to venture out of our caves to see and talk with other InDesign-using carbon-based life forms.

That’s great. He was really helpful to me last year, and I was missing his name on the list. So I’m delighted to hear that Ron’s coming.
I won’t be seeing anyone at the conference, since I’ve decided to do my sessions blindfolded as an added degree of difficulty. There may be a chainsaw involved too. You never know.
Mike, If you decide to use chainsaws and you’re blindfolded, please don’t be offended if I decide not to attend your session, or least sit in the back row.

It would be great to see this as an online event – I never seem to have the capacity to make it to the live-in-person-only-events. Maybe hopefully someday it will be made online.
Sounds like it will be a great event and a great line-up.
I wish it was available online or as a DVD as well…I would love to go, but spending $1200+ for a two day conference, especially in this economy, is not practical for me…I know I would learn a lot, so a part of me is justifying the expense, but I think it’s going to be out of reach. :-(
I hate when conferences say they’re in one city, but are actually 10 miles (or more) away from it. Washington, DC? Try Alexandria, VA. A charming town, but don’t think you’ll be anywhere near the city without a 15 minute Metro (subway) ride.
@Lucy: I hear you. It is definitely an investment. But we believe it’s worth it! Beyond the excellent content and ability to do in-person discussions about cutting-edge stuff, you’ll be getting over $400 in free stuff (ebooks, software, subscriptions, etc.).
@EnergonCube: Yeah, it’s a tricky thing. We have people coming from all over the place (the Seattle event last year attracted attendees from six continents), and DC is far more understandable than Alexandria. I know it’s a different city, but when two cities are that close together, it’s kind of hard for us west-coasters to tell them apart. ;)
