Thats very clever. Is there a way to convert the compound image back to individual images? Or, is there another tip for placing an image into frames and have that image chopped up.

Hi Rich. You can’t convert the compound path to separate frames that all contain parts of the image, BUT you can do something similar with the Make Grid script that comes with InDesign. I’ll write it up in a new post, probably next week. Thanks for the idea.

I don’t know why, but its not working here :( ! After I placed an image into the compound path, it didn’t fit into the path. It just appeared in a retangle frame inside the path. Would you help me?

Hi Gabriel. With the compound path selected, choose Object > Fitting > Fill Frame Proportionally. That should make the image fill the entire compound path.
