Learn / Forums / EPUB and eBook / A workaround for the removed 'interaction points' in the media menu
Hi there,
I am making my first fixed layout ePub for a journal that will contain some ‘visual essays’ with video/audio/interactive content, and was working through how to jump to points in a video for an essay that is a performance transcript. The author wants to have points where the video is on the page, linked to a particular point. I thought I’d cracked it when I found this video covering jumping to navigation points using buttons (https://www.lynda.com/InDesign-tutorials/Control-video-buttons/408236/455935-4.html – might be subscription only). So I went into the media panel, and the options for controllers and navigation points no longer exist within InDesign cc! Googling found me this: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/39042115-media-panel-is-missing-all-playback-settings-for-m – Adobe in their wisdom have removed that functionality as part of their purge of Flash (I was using MP4). So, is there a workaround that allows me to place a video that will play from a certain point? My InDesign literacy is pretty good but mostly for print – I’ve not done much fiddling with code stuff.
Any suggestions gratefully recieved!
Jo
