I’m in the process of converting our tech docs from Frame over to InDesign. I’m having some trouble with anchored frames, which seems to be a common problem. My current issue is that anchored frames aren’t breaking to the next page when they reach the bottom of the text frame. If I anchor a frame to a paragraph and add text above that paragraph, when that paragraph with the anchored frame reaches the bottom of the text box, the anchored frame just gets push below the text box. Is there a an easy fix for this? Anyone have advice?
I tried to insert a screenshot to illustrate, but I’m having problems with that, too :).
Thanks!
It may be that you want an inline frame rather than an anchored frame.
Some old but relevant info here:
https://creativepro.com/make-an-image-flow-with-the-text.php
Anchored frames can go outside the text frame; inline frames are often on their own paragraph and flow with the text.
I talk about that in this Lynda.com movie: https://www.lynda.com/InDesign-tutorials/Using-anchored-objects/368575/413033-4.html
Thanks, David. I read the post and watched the video, but I’m still confused about how to accomplish this when we want text to wrap around the object. It seems that making the object inline fixes the page break issue, but prevents us from using text wrap…because it’s inline. Am I right?
Thanks
